just my personal opinion about what the mv means, i feel like taeyeon as a waitress is just like her as an idol, always having to meet people's expectations and living up to their standards they have of her. she finds it easy at first since after all, its her dream to be a singer. but after some time the employer started lashing out on her, and this depicts that she had gained haters, and she lost her carefree life that she used to have in the past, which are the scenes of her running about in the fields. then the butterfly in the mv, that depicts her family, friends & snsd. these people encourage and constantly tell her to ignore these haters and motivate her to go on stronger. that's when she realized, hater's opinions don't matter anymore and haters shouldn't stop her from living her carefree life. so in the mv, she quits on her job (like quitting on her haters) and she goes off to find her carefree self again, and she did. thats when in the mv, her carefree self in the past meets her present.

중학교때 이 뮤비를 처음보고 진짜 신선한 충격을 받은 기억이..노래+영상미+태연 미모가 3박자를 이뤄서 정말 한편의 아름다운 영화속 에필로그를 보는것 같았음...노래도 너무 좋고 결국 현실에서 탈피해 진정한 나 자신(I)를 만난다는 뮤비의 결말이 너무 예쁘고 자유로워 보였음

just imagine, she has a outdoor concert, where everyone wears coachella outfits and at night with lots of starts, we held up our lights sticks feeling the song, and at the last part of the song, where taeyeon sang the low note, everyone would sing that part it will be epic. 솔로 데뷔곡인데 너무 황홀한 곡이었음. 이노래 그냥 inst만 들어도 엄청 좋음. 저 예쁜 목소리 없이도 충분히 감동이 오더라. 정말 좋아하는 솔로 여가수 김태연 항상 행복하고 건강이 허락하는한 계속 노래 내줬으면 좋겠다.

노래는 진짜 뮤비랑 보면 또 색다른 것 같다. 막연히 듣기만 할 때는 시원한 노래인데 뮤비랑 같이 보면 괜스레 울컥해짐 ㅋㅌㅋㅋ ㅠㅠ 정말 자유로워 보이는 모습이 뭔가 부럽고 풍경과 조화를 이루는 모든 것들이 너무 예쁘고 그래서 노래랑 더 잘 어울린다. 이런 노래가 다시 또 나올 수 있을까.

But still i think in terms of longevity and recognition taeyeon takes the crown with ‘I’ it will always be one of the most known songs in all of korea and as her debut solo. I think Jennie obviously wins in terms of views and ifans but that isn’t all that’s needed to be legendary. But Solo is indeed a very successful debut

This is still the best solo debut for me. The standard, a grand solo debut. Because the song and the concept is so timeless that we could still listen to it from time to time, and it still feels modern. Not to mention that Taeyeon is also the one that make this sounds fantastic. When i heard that Wendy is preparing for her solo debut, i kinda want her to have a debut like Taeyeon I because of how amazing this is, and it also suits Wendy too. I hope Taeyeon will do a collab with Wendy in the future🤍

I agree. I think Taeyeon has always struggled with depression, even when she was with GG. I could see she wasn't happy. I wish her well, and it's nothing to be ashamed about.I think it has something to do with just where she is in her life, and when I hit 30 I had a sort of crisis, or funk... it happens to the best of us, where you really start to evaluate your life.

Well the endings of the videos have some similarities with the two Taes(Tays) on the same beach, but as it is with most things in KPop, the reactions are always a bit over the top ;) Try to listen to the rest of the 'I' Album, every song in amazing. And if you like ballads, her older songs like 'If' or 'Can you hear me' might make you cry ;)
