as a former dancer i have to say that even after all these years, in terms of difficulty (and not limited to) the choreography for move is still staying at the higher bracket of the ranking. one needs to have very high body control to nail the basics of this choreography and taemin really nails it. it is truly made for him❤

I read in comments that Move had not won a single award at music shows during it's promotion. It further said that it's because this song and concept was not Korean public friendly. But now many idols cover this song's choreography, both male and female. Taemin's music and artistry is ahead of its time. What an iconic masterpiece. We love a fearless king.

I read an interview with Taemin that stated he looked up to Sia since she is known for breaking gender stereotypes. Influenced by Sia, he wanted to show that what's on the inside is more important than what's on the outside. Taemin chose this dance to break the stereotype of what girl groups and boy groups choreography should be like. He wanted to break those labels to show dance is a form of art. The choreography is made to look easy and fluid when it is actually harder than it looks. Also "Love" was supposed to be the title track but Taemin chose "Move" since he felt Love wouldn't have shown his identity the way he liked. He said he likes to experiment and push boundaries when it comes to his solo work. You've come so far Taemin, keep pushing boundaries and trying new things. It was like 2am the morning and MOVE was on my YT recommendations, and I remember thinking to myself "whoa, this thumbnail is intriguing", so I watched it and I was just so astounded Afterwards I ran into my brother's room, waking him up and telling him he needs to come see this artist called Taemin like NOW! And so I forced him out of bed at 2am just to come watch Taemin's music videos with me and ever since then he has been a K-Pop fan as well😆 Whenever I try to introduce someone to K-Pop music, this is my first song recommendation to them. And, it works every time. They all end up becoming K-pop fans😂

One thing unique about this release was that it was polished but a bit raw and grungy. K-pop doesn’t usually come off raw/grungy/authentic. I think that’s because the outfits, choreo, set, and song are traditionally so over the top. Would like more kpop like this where that’s not the case. I like the usual over-the-topness too…but it’s refreshing for something like this to come out every so often

But Taemin's move has it's own color. It's feminine yet masculine it's pretty much genderless but strong. It's unique. It's not a trend (or maybe not yet) but it sure is different. It's new.
